Which used cars are the cheapest to insure?

When looking to buy your next used car, you need to think about more than your monthly finance payments.

Insurance group: 1

The Skoda Citigo can be from insurance group 1 onwards - with the 59bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine in S, SE, and Monte Carlo trim in the lowest group.

There are plenty of trims and options that can upgrade the basic entry-level car - making it the perfect city car or first car.

Volkswagen Polo

Insurance group: 1 - 26

A Volkswagen Polo varies from as low as insurance group 1, up to higher groups. 

If you are looking to keep the costs down, look for a lower engine size, specification, fuel tank size, and gears.

Fiat 500

Insurance group: 8
